About

Tarbiyah Academy is a full-time, K-8th grade private Islamic day school located in Elkridge, Maryland (Howard County), which opened in 2015. It is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program school and a candidate for the IB Middle Years Program, combining an academically rigorous IB curriculum with Islamic character development. The school serves roughly 140-175 students in grades K-8 with a student-teacher ratio of around 6:1 to 7.7:1, according to third-party school directories. About three-quarters of enrolled families live in Howard County, with others commuting from Montgomery, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, and Prince George's counties. The school holds Discovery Days (open houses) and offers personalized tours and class shadow visits for prospective families. Importantly, Tarbiyah Academy operates as a conventional full-time private school with its own campus and daily attendance, rather than as a homeschool co-op, tutoring service, or homeschool support group. Families researching Muslim homeschooling resources should be aware this listing represents a traditional school enrollment option, not a homeschool program.
